Hari Raya

Hari Raya or Hari Raya Aidilfitri is one of Malaysia's major celebration or perhaps the world. Hari Raya is a spiritual month in the Islamic calender. It is celebrated by the Muslims. What I like most about Hari Raya is that I can get to eat many delicious food!! YUMMY!! Especially the rendang, laksa, ketupat and cookies. It is impossible to not spot a stall selling food especially the local "kuih-muih" like dodol, pulut wajik, kuih bahulu and kuih prap. One month before the Hari Raya, Muslims will have to fast. It is called the Ramadan month. Their fasting starts after the azan subuh (in the morning) and ends at 7 in the evening. Hari Raya marks the end of the fasting month.


 During the Hari Raya month shopping malls and the bazaars will be crowded with people causing a very jolly mood for everyone, even the non-Muslims, even though traffic throughout the country is bad and congested. Holidays during this festive month is quite long (I like it). Major sales in shopping malls extends for over a month and above during the Hari Raya month. This gives opportunity not only to me but to rest of the citizens to shop for more cheap stuff!!!!  Traditional attire can be found in all the shopping complexes everywhere even in small stalls. Examples of the Hari Raya traditional attire is the baju melayu, baju kurung, baju kebaya, kain songket, jubah and also some cool head scarfs.

I joined my uncle's Hari Raya celebration on the first day of Hari Raya. It was full of fun and madness!!! I enjoyed it a lot. The food was so delicious. I kept on eating even after my tummy couldn't take in more food. I just can't resist the temptation. I liked the chocolate cookie with nuts that my aunt made. It was just so superb. I even packed some back home after leaving her house. My cousins were all dressed up in brand new clothes. They were wearing the "Baju Melayu" and "Baju Kurung". Their clothes even had the "new clothes smell". Besides, their clothes were all so clean, bright and glittering. 
  


After having all our tummies full we had a water balloon fight. It was a bomb!!! We were all soaking wet. The whole porch was wet. We were all chasing after one another throwing water balloons and screaming. We made so much so noise but luckily the neighbors didn't mind at all as many of them were out of town. Then, we watched a  Hindi movie title 3 idiots. That will be the 3th time I'm  watching that movie because it is just so funny and interesting . There wasn't any fireworks for us. We didn't played it as my aunt was afraid of the bad consequences that could possibly happen, like losing a finger or burning your face or body up (yeah, I totally agree with her, I'm scared as well!) 


Hari Raya is certainly a celebration filled with joy. So Happy Hari Raya to everyone =) and thanks for reading.

31/8/1957 is our National Day, and today is 31/8/2010, so Happy Merdeka to everyone!!!

I just want to put this song in, after all its our Independence Day today. It's the "Keranamu" Malaysia song.

Buruh nelayan dan juga petani,

Anak-anak terasuh mindanya,

Public transport here is fine. Rapid KL is the BEST!! For me and perhaps for all, the Rapid KL transportation connects us all together. My favorite bus is the U70. I can say that my everyday enjoyment relies with U70. The bus is so comfortable. Its not a bumpy ride, it moves swiftly. Besides, its not hot at all in the bus even though the whether outside is so burning, as the bus is fully air conditioned.There's even a mini television in the bus. Theres's two!! It basically shows news, songs and funny advertisements. We can actually know more about the colors of Malaysia by taking public transport because we will be able to see all kinds of people and places. I still hope there will be more Rapid KL buses because these days the bus is getting so cramped up with people.

Durian aka the king of fruits is many Malaysian's all time favorite food. It is so creamy, with its marvelous taste and of course the smell ( Hmmmmm so aromatic). It can be found in cakes, biscuits, sweets, ice-cream and many other forms. Durian tastes its best during its season.

The "Tugu Negara" is so magnificent. It symbolizes the  Malaysian army back in  the past defending and also fighting for our country. One statue holds the Malaysian flag while the others holding their rifle and helping the injured among the dead. Once again HAPPY MERDEKA!!!

Colors of Malaysia

1 Malaysia =) .Malaysia is certainly a very unique country, with so many races, food and culture. Firstly, I really like the fact that Malaysia is a multicultural country. Living together with people from different culture is just so great!! Peace and harmony.

BON ORDORI!!.. a Japanese festival. Many people from different races were there =)

It was so FUN!!! with many different kinds of Japanese  food over there. Truly a 1 Malaysia concept ( These are just my buddies)

The food here is great, for example roti chanai,nasi goreng, nasi kandar and of course my most favourite of them all... tomyam and laksa! YUMMY!!! There's satay and rojak which is just so yuckky for me even though so many people say its delicious. Nasi lemak is just another common food over here, its nice... well it depends who cooks it. Food during the festive season like the Hari Raya, Chinese Hew Year, Deepavali, Christmas, vaisakhi and etc.. is just so delicious (can't wait for the next open house).

The traditional attire of Malaysian culture is so nice!! Theres the baju melayu, cheongsam, punjabi suite and many more. We also have our own traditional dance, for example, the Hari Gawai dance which is called the "Tarian Ngajat", "Tarian Sumazau", "zapain", "Tarian Magunatip", Bharathanatyam, the lion dance and more.... these are just a few I listed (I wish I can do the "Tarian Magunatip" dance).

 Kuala Lumpur is my favorite hang out place because i am able too see all kinds of people and stuff there.It certainly isn't a nice place to stay because of the traffic, the weather, the crowd but it sure is a GREAT place to visit =) like The Pertonas Twin Towers, Central Market and many more..... 

Central Market is like my heavenly place, with the smell (Hmmmmm), the color inside the building, the music, the super friendly people who works there and of course the stuff that is sold over there. "Tanggal 31 Ogos", is one of my favourite song. I just LOVE it!!! Every time when that song is played in my school, I'll be standing up singing out aloud. =P Its kinda catchy. The lyrics are below here.

College Life....YumMy

When I first stepped into Taylor's University College i was so nervous. I had the "first day" feeling. My stomach was aching, my mouth was all dried up and i really wanted to go to the toilet even when I don't have to. I wanted to be in high school back. Its a whole new place with new people. College is certainly a whole lot different than high school. At first i thought it was an intake for mass communication students only, then when i arrived at the MPH hall, i felt i was in a different world for a moment. My first day in Taylor University College didn't turned out so well. :( ARGGHHH...... I really hate the first day of anything that I'm into.... Oh yea.. I met Wei Yeek almost like when the orientation stuff was done.. .. she was the first person I met there. So glad!!!:)


On the second orientation day, i met all my cool new pals. I don't remember seeing them all during the first day of orientation though. At first they were all kinda quiet when we met. We were just smiling and showing our teeth the whole time. We were not talking much. I felt kinda awkward. :p After that, on the third day and so on, everything started to happen way beyond I had imagine about how my college life would be! My new pals are so super amazing!!!!!!!!They are so funny, caring, crazy, helpful and so on.......They made my college life so fun and interesting!!!! Everyday with them is just so WOWW!!  I LOVE YOU GUYS!!!!!!  

Getting up so early in the morning and getting stuck in the traffic is just an annoying routine. Most of our classes start at 8am till 3pm and above.... which makes me so sleepy and tired. Haizzzzz... wish i can bring a pillow and sleep somewhere quiet :p but the presents of my pals lightens up my mood ( so glad to have you guys).College life is also kinda tough and challenging because of the studies and also the assignments which is such a pain. I've been an insomniac lately.  I was super blur about my first assignment. I was so lost and to be honest i had a really tough and irritating  time setting up this blog but after my buddies and lecturers explained about it, Wowww i was able to do it!!! You guys SAVED me!!  I was also lost with the Plagiarism doings.... until Dr. Benedict gave a briefing about it and i was so relived as i now know how to do my assignments properly without having any doubts . Thank you so much!!!! Besides, i kept laughing ( HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA ) on whatever happened on 25.8.2010... till today and perhaps forever!!!!!!!!!!! Well, because my favorite word is "cite la".  All the lectures in Taylor University College are really helpful.  ( i really appreciate it ) They gave us a LOT of guidance. =) Once again thank you so much to all my lecturers and friends!! I had learned and I'm still learning many new things which is great. :)
